My Z3M a/c is not working.
I went to have it Re-gassed and the guy says my condenser is knackered!

I have a contact who can sell me one off a BMW Z3 2.8.

Is it the same as a Z3M or do I need a different one?

any a/c experts out there?

thanks

I recall a post on here about the AC bits for a Z3M. Think it was @bertiejaffa or @Pingu or someone with an Estoril blue one.
Try a search of the forums should be in there somewhere

Does your condenser and therefore system have a leak?
yes indeed! The engineer coupled it up with gas and it sounded like a steam train!

That’s great thanks Pingu, soon as we get a dry day again I’ll strip the old one out
and check the part number. It’s been pretty wet in the U.K. for a couple of days! Got to look after myself cos I’m knocking on a bit 😀

If it's an original, the number is on a sticky label on the top of the condenser. You will need to remove the slam panel to see it.

You will need a new dryer as well once the system has been open to air, don't get it regassed without one, it wont work correctly or last.

If you get it rebased properly you shouldn’t have to replace the drier. A good machine will vacuum the system (with heat) to remove any moisture.

I would buy new which Is what I have done on mine - they are cheap enough it would be a false economy to put a second hand one

You're not wrong, but I have a mate who does car and commercial AC for a living and he says once a drier is saturated from open to air it's not always reliable and wont work as efficiently so for the sake of £50 a new drier is always the best option...........Just saying
