Decided to do a couple of things on the 1.9 that I have been meaning to do for ages…

Mot advises…..about 8 months ago:whistle:

First was to clean the front calipers ( Mot said Brake imbalance )
To be honest I never noticed and it always stopped in a straight line ….. but nevertheless gave them an overhaul. Loads of meat on the brake pads so the ones I bought will keep for another time.

Cleaned up ok and look red again=))

Pistons still look in great condition ( no rust at all)

Should be ok till the next MOT :)

The tyres were reported with cracks and deterioration …..

The MOT said it was both rear tyres….
This is the front one and there are splits at the bottom of the tread

5 years old ….. so think they probably need replacing.

But luckily I have a set of 17” wheels picked up a while back from Roy ( @Rha ) so put them on ( These are really for the 2.8 but its not going anywhere for a while)
Gives me time to clean the 16” wheels and order 4 new tyres, then swap them back.

Front 17’s, Back 16’s
( only to show different rims)

Then last thing was the handbrake….
Loosened the nuts by the lever, then used a screwdriver through the lugnut hole on the adjuster….. Got it to stop the wheel turning then backed it off a few notches. Then tighten up the nuts such that the handbrake is tight on the 4th click.

Tightened the lugnuts and that was it !!
I think I have done all the advises now , but will go over the headlights at some point now I have the proper kit. ( had it for ages really  but I used some Tcut on a rag ages ago and that made a vast improvement, so left it at that =)) )

Well done you, you just can't keep your hands in your pockets. Theres nothing like doing these jobs yourself and save your pennies for fuel.

A few jobs well done 🤩
Your Z is looking lovely 🌞

Ok. I changed my mind. I don't want Tony to adopt me.
You can be my father. You are more multi-skilled and seem to be more involved in heavy duty tasks.
my other dad is just into woodworking and some cosmetic maintenance.
you will teach me to play the guitar, work on my car and we can sit and relax drinking beers.
i will miss that cottage in the States though.
ok dad? Do we have a deal?

You’re better off with Tony..

I think I’m more akin to being ‘ the loony uncle that no one in the family talks about ‘

Even better. I am keeping him and from now on you are my uncle.
when is our first guitar session?
