Evening all,
Thanks to Gaz for processing my membership request! Apologies it's taken me a little while to post up!
I recently bought a Z4 2.5 as a project, having been sat on the previous owners' drive for two years. As it transpires, it's needed just a tad more than was let on!
Work so far includes.
New Water Pump
New Thermostat
New Radiator
New A/C Condenser
New upper and lower hoses and temp sensor
New Breathers
New Rocker Cover Gaskets
Replacement oil filter housing gasket (leak was that bad it had ran down the side of the engine and box.
Front wishbone bushes
New N/S tie rod
Discs and Pads front and rear
New HB Shoes
New front ARB bushes
New Steering Rack Gaiters (both sides)
Elipsoids refurbished with new tyres
Re-seat micro-switch in the boot, (roof locks wouldn't release!)
Spare Key
Still to go:
Roof motor to sort
Drivers Side window U/S
Door lock spins
Wiper arm cable tied (clips ordered)
CD changer cassette stuck
Interior to clean - possibly replace seats
Despite all that, the car's got the basic spec I've got used to, so Xenons, Cruise and Heated Seats. Although reading various posts, I can see it won't be too long until the Mods and Upgrades start to tempt.
BMs have been in the family for years, and responsible for my other hobby cars MG ZTs and Rover 75s but in the last few months we've decided to focus back on the BMWs, The next project that I'll start on for my Dad is his X5 4.6is which he bought spares or repair, and due to health has never got around to.
I've always liked the Z4 and it was after seeing some of yours at our local 'Horsepower at the Hall' event that I really started to look, which is always dangerous!
My dropbox App is having a moment, but pictures will be up shortly!
Once again, thanks for the add, looking forward to getting involved more as time goes forward.
