I do believe I was there in my old Z3. First time I met @t-tony and Shirl if memory serves me correctly. I could of course be completely wrong and may not have been there at all 🤷

Vulcan if I'm not mistuken.

XH 558 October 2015 flew low over my house.

Bit of a story. Way down bottom of my garden it backs onto the railway line from south wales up the border country. Almost ever week there's steam engines going up and down. Quite cute seeing them chuffing past with little table lamps lit by each window. They're tours for train enthusiasts off up the welsh marches. Anyway. That day in October 2015 we were sat in the dining room with the patio doors open and in the distance I hear this chuffchuffing noise and announced in a know-it-all voice that there's a steam engine coming. So we all crowded to the door to catch a glimpse of it chuffing by. But the chuffing got louder with no sight of the train when it suddenly got pretty loud and big shadow goes overhead.

Seemed really really low but, looking at the above picture, they're pretty big so maybe not as low as I thought. But still a sight to behold. wasn't going fast either so had a good long look at it.

Only found out later by googling. Report in the south wales argus that it was XH558 on a round trip from doncaster to st athan in wales and flew over here on its way back up north.

Mind you. That chuff chuffing noise it was making didn't sound right. Maybe needed its plugs sorting. Only firing on 3.

Your memory isn’t failing young Albert, you had Jack with you that day. I didn’t get there till after lunch as I worked on Saturday mornings.

I can add some when I get home. Badboy convinced me to park mine under the Vulcan for some pictures as I was late getting there.
