3rd brake light out

Just noticed the 3rd brake light on the boot is not working. Any advice on what could be wrong.

Loom of doom Paul. Disconnect the plug from the light and check for live when brake pedal is pressed (ignition on). Connect test light between earth and both terminals at a time. If you get a live then connect between both terminals of the plug to see if you have earth.

Auto electrics are really not my thing. How do I check it?

Thanks Tony. As I said, I know nothing about electrics so I will have to find someone who can test this for me.

They're leds on a facelift Stevie they don't all fail at once.

As Tony says, there are 20 led lights. Surely they can’t all fail at once.

Have a look at the loom of doom where it comes into the boot near the forward RH corner of the boot lid and look for any signs of breakage.

When this happened to my car it was the LoD. Easy fix!

Inspired by this thread and knowing that my third brake light doesn't work and was an advisory on the last mot, I decided to take a look at mine. The loom seems fine but, this is the remains of the bulb carrier. It is rusty, one bulb cannot stay fixed in and the circuit board has several breaks in the solder

. I could possibly repair it but will find out how much a new LED one is first. Anyone point me in the right direction for one please?

You can use led strips just use the old circuit board as a base. @Sean d did his like this IIRC.
