Recently did the carrier and rotor upgrade on my Z3 but I'm having trouble sourcing a brake pad that covers the full brake disc rotor. The part numbers for both 286mm z3 and 300mm z4 pads seem to be the same and have the same dimensions. Got a brembo combination on at the moment which is the exact same part number as the z4 pad.

Anyone got a pad that covers the full rotor?

Thanks

It is how it works. The bigger rotors but same pads. Improved braking is not about bigger pads, but about clamping on bigger radius, so brake force is greater

Thanks for your reply. I'm actually worried about the aesthetic of the rotors more, vanity eh. There seems to be around a 10mm gap where rust will probably appear that the pad won't clear under braking. The rusty ring...

Spaypaint them with caliper paint.

I’m running 300mm with 2.8 pads and can’t say I’ve noticed a ‘rusty ring(!)’ but my brakes get a lot of use :ymdevil:

😂 So here is the zoom in. Inner side is untouched from the pad. This will rust in time and I'll be left with an orange circle to match my calipers, headlamps and the rest of the rust on my car.

They will be getting some thorough use next weekend on the Scottish Run. 😎

doesn’t appear to a rusty ring on mine.

mid you pad chamfered by any chance?

With the roads you have out there I’d be out very weekend bedding those pads in!
