Guys heres a pic of the traction lights on dash.I need to know how much to pay, to get it sorted? what are the things need done to fix it? I havnt the skill to fix myself!!!as you may know i was conned by a so called mechanic and this should have been fixed, but i guess some mechanics just love conning people out of their money .So id like to be fully armed with the knowledge of what it needs done to it to erase the traction lights.

Hi, i would look to get a code reader on it and see what codes are there , if no reader i would have a look and see if you can spot any issues like broken or disconnected wires , one of the lights looks like brake pad warning light so check the brake pads for wear , but best bet is a code reader to give you a head start on any issues

Cant remember if this has been asked before, but, have you checked your tyre pressures? The low pressure light comes on via the wheel speed sensor ( due to reduced tyre circumference). If the pressures are all good the chances are you have a faulty wheel speed sensor. Buying a code reader would reduce your risk of having your leg lifted by an unscrupulous mechanic. They are easy to use, just connect to the port under the dash, turn on ignition and read the screen.

Tony.

The lights you are seeing there are normally associated with a DSC error.
That could be a simple fix such as a wheel speed sensor or something more expensive like replacing/reconditioning the entire DSC unit.
There are dozens of existing threads on this issue. I would suggest having a good read.

It is impossible to really provide a price to fix this issue. In one of your other three threads about this same issue you mentioned that the mechanic did provide a fixed price and guaranteed fix. I would be interested to know what sort of agreement you had with the mechanic because that would be very foolish of them to agree to that!

The fixed price you were quoted initially (£360 I believe?) would be on the expensive side for a wheel speed sensor but way on the cheap side for a module rebuild. Proper diagnostics are required before finger-in-the-air prices can be suggested.

If the ABS module needs repair, I’ve always used BBA-Reman. For the few jobs I’ve had that need repair. And they give the part a lifetime warranty afterwards.

I think though you have to be in the trade to send parts off, but you could call them and see if they will repair it for you, or recommend a garage near you that uses them.

here are the “common faults“ listed on their website,

I expect it will be a wheels sensor if anything. So a cheap fix.
