Advertised as the cheapest on ebay ! quite how it can be advertised as such with no fixed price is a mystery to me, looks clean enough.

cheapest when it started,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z3-3-0-M-Sport-CHEAPEST-ON-EBAY/272898752536?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20160727114228&meid=78d61a3f7e7b4b1091e27a97283d2b6a&pid=100290&rk=4&rkt=4&mehot=pp&sd=172619572077&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

its not a Sport as he describes. No crisscross front bumper grille or brushed aluminium console.
Nice looking car though all the same. Seats are like new..
£4k would be an absolute bargain. would expect maybe get to £5k

I spotted it wasn't a Sport. The title took me in initially though.

In fairness what he's really saying is it's got M Sport parts. But it's misleading all the same. Of course he may or may not be aware of that.

I absolutely hate when people say cheapest on Ebay when it's open auction. It's absolutely false advertising as they just mean it's a low start price. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on the Sport thing but not that.

I think nearer to £4k (maybe just over) is a fairer price than £5k anyway. It has got 94k miles. I think a bargain would have to be under £4k.

If I was looking for a 3.0 I would be chuffed to get that one for 4K. Assuming that reality matches the photos and no nasty mechanical surprises you have a beautiful soft top sports car that will be good for another 100,000 miles at least with a reasonable chance of no depreciation. Get it snapped up before 3.0 litres go the way of the "M"s.
(Awaits incoming)

He has a reserve price and he's said it's low. Everyone has their own opinion of what is and is not low.

I reckon less than 4K would be too low if I was selling. How much would you advertise it for?

Personally - without looking at it in person somewhere between 5-7k, If it was a year or two ago 3-5k the prices are very up and down. You don't see many 3.0 in that colour.

From watching trends over the last 3-4 years I don't think the time of year thing works as you might think. Prices definitely start pushing up in late-Feb to end-Apr. That's the real buying season as the 'something nice for the summer' type person comes out in numbers, pushing up demand and therefore prices. Why as early as that? Because if you are going to buy 6 months road tax most people would do it Apr-Sep incl to align with the better weather. By June/July prices are certainly dropping off. Those people who push the price up don't want a soft top/2nd car for only 3 months of the summer.

So I would say 9 months of the year prices are fairly level. And they go up for 3 months of the year. How much? Never worked that out but lets say 20%.

At the moment it's not selling at £4,750. So I still think my nearer to £4k punt is not too far off, £4,250 ish was what I was thinking of. And I'm guessing if it's up at £4,750 he'd take something in between.

So with a 20% buying season premium he might be nearer £5.5k. But I think that's it. It has got 94k on it and it's not a Sport. Neither help. There were 3.0 Sports with significantly lower mileage and in as nice a condition not selling at the £6k mark during the summer.

I think the silly price 3.0 Sport thing was short-lived during the 2017 'buying season'. It remains to be seen if it happens in 2018.

Just my two pennorth worth. But I do monitor prices pretty closely as I'm always looking for the next project/bargain :)

Looks a lovely car. 93k is nothing for these cars and certainly shouldn't be dismissed. I reckon it's £4000-4500 being the time of year.

Not dismissing it all. Bit if £6k can you get a Sport with less miles in same condition just over £4k is all this one is likely to get. Maybe £4.5k.

Yep Totally agree on the price. Peeps have to buy what they can afford and if they have £4500 looks like they will get a good car. Mines done 99980 :nailbiting: now and still feels incredibly tight for a car 20 years old.

bet the reserve is £4.5K
I just looked on eBay and seller has posted that this car is now on sale with a bid of £4000. Somebody is hoping that nobody else steps in. If it's anybody on here, good luck!
