I need to clean out sludge at the bottom of my washer bottle but not mush space round it like on my 1.9, so is removal easier than it looks ? Geoff

Hi Geoff, quite easy to remove, just take the pipe off the pump that goes to the jet's. Remove the two bolts on the bulkhead and pull clear, be careful there is a grommet at the bottom where the spigot on the bottom of the bottle goes into the chassis. One of the problems with these bottles is the moulded bracket at the back sometimes becomes detached from the bottle. Hope this helps. Pete.

Hi Pete, had a look at it yesterday having a break from work in the garden and found that I did not have any spanners or socet to fit, so went to my very helpful garage who lent me the small socket required. Got nuts off (easy) but had no luck removing the pipe or the two electric sockets, maybe because never been off since put on in 2002 plus not much room and rumatisum in my wrists so garage are going to sort it for me in the week before I join a tour round Exmore with the Minehead Motor club and at the end going on display on Lynton sea front at the Lyn Classic so hopefull the sun will shine.

The washer pumps (you may have two if you have headlight washers) just pull out of the waterbottle..you don’t need to disconnect anything. Then is a couple of small bolts holding it in at the back. Idea to drain it first too 😁

2 separate washer pumps. The headlight washer pump outlet from the reservoir is above the windscreen washer pump outlet. This is so even if the headlights can’t get cleaned the screen can. It’s possible the screen wash pump has failed? The headlight washer pump has much larger ports and consumes much more fluid.

Tony.

I have the NPA one installed in an old laptop but not holding its charge well at the moment so will have to find out how to get it installed in my current laptop. (I have a disk) but no computer expert

Remember the headlight washer only works once every 5 times you use the screen washer and I think only if the lights are on. I thought mine were broken but they are definitely not once I’d worked that out. They are like a jet wash!
