They do go brittle in time @Russell O got one recently from Sopers he might still have the part number
I'll have a look for the receipt tomorrow and post it up.
To be honest I called Sopers and told them this exact description and they knew what I was on about.
Think it was about £30 ish and just pops on both ends.
Providing the radiator has not gone brittle too. Which mine had..

I believe it's 11531436122 'connecting line' and is the same for all 6 cylinder cars. It appears to be supplied as an assembled 3 component part.
I would expect it to be £25-£30 from a main dealer. Not common with 3 Series which will generally makes it more expensive and less easy to obtain from dealer own stock (ie may need to be ordered) and as a 3rd party part.
Header aka 'expansion' tank when you are searching.
It might be worth a look on ebay to see if there is a quality non-OEM part. Try searching - z3 (header,expansion) hose bmw. Just tried though and nothing comes up.

i had a quote from my local dealer and he quoted £45.00 + vat
i might have to call sopers up.
on a different not i just got a price for the bulbs for the heater controls £9.70 !!!
of which there are two, think i may use something else.
