My Winter Z4:
Over the last few months I've been keeping myself busy in my garage on winter evenings with my fourth Z4. A 2006 2.5 that needed a bit of TLC to sort it out. Originally it was uninspiring...
I've had some great, testing runs out in it over the winter, up through the Wye Valley and over to Tetbury etc with a few of the 3.0 & //M boys and its been a pleasure to drive and by no means slow! . It's now all done and ready for someone to enjoy this summer
It had a good service history and a new MOT but a fair few advisories that I set about tackling. It just needed a few things doing and a bit of love, so since November I have:
I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and having something to drive whilst my Alpina was in winter hibernation, You learn something on every car you have and this was the first time I've taken the roof out, but now its ready to go to a good home where somebody can enjoy it for summer.
So, if you're looking to get into a Z4 this summer, especially a face-lift model, with everything sorted and an MOT until October, maybe this is it ?

It had a good service history and a new MOT but a fair few advisories that I set about tackling. It just needed a few things doing and a bit of love, so since November I have:
- Removed the peeling/oxidized 108's & re-fitted a set of freshly refurbished Ellipsoid Alloys
- Fitted 4 New matching UHP rated tyres
- Fitted new Front Discs and pads
- Painted the 4 Calipers (silver)
- Fitted a new Alarm Sensor to cure the false alarm issues
- Fixed the non-working roof and serviced the motor
- Relocated the Motor to the boot for easy access
- Resolved the damp fog light issue
- Cleared the cloudy headlights
- Replaced the battery
- Clayed & fully detailed it with numerous coats of wax
- Replaced a cracked windscreen
I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and having something to drive whilst my Alpina was in winter hibernation, You learn something on every car you have and this was the first time I've taken the roof out, but now its ready to go to a good home where somebody can enjoy it for summer.
