Did some searching in the forums but didn't find any solution. I have installed the GROM BT3 on my pre-wired cd-changer wires. It powers up, I can connect with Bluetooth but when I press "CD" (once, twice, thrice, etc) on the head unit (I have a CD43) it flashes "NO DISC" and nothing happens (I'm expecting it to go to CD Changer when I press it twice). I contacted GROM and we traced everything out and they said it's two possible issues - wiring or the unit needs to be coded for the cd changer.

Any one have experience with this? Should I quit and pull the head unit and just wire into the back with a different harness or should I code it? (and how does one do that I guess

I also have the CD43 and i do not see how it can be “coded”.
try removing it, unplugging all wires and then it will ask for the 4 digit code (if you do not have the code, just dont do this, it will be locked).
inserting the code it may do a reset or something.
worked for my BT module (not a grom).
was connecting to bt but had no input to the cd player.
after this procedure, I dont know and can not explain why, it worked.
Got all this info from the Chinese seller in really bad English probably google translated and I was like “yeah sure, now we are into black magic voodoo stuff” but it worked so why not try?

I will add that to my to-do list for the weekend! Cheers!!!

Have you physically unplugged the CD changer unit at the changer? As just disconnecting it at the headunit isn't sufficient to tell the unit it's no longer connected (don't ask me how I know this!)

This car never had the changer installed so the wires were neatly wrapped and tucked behind the amp on the right side of the trunk/boot. I tested for voltage on the accessory wire and on the always-on wire and it got voltage so that tells me the headunit has the wires plugged in. (hopefully that clarifies)
