Before I begin can I say this is the best car forum I have had the pleasure of being part of to date. The wealth of knowledge is outstanding and the members are a credit to social media and car clubs.
Sadly, it’s time for me to move on and find a new project.
So, for sale is my 2000 BMW Z3 2.0 in Topaz Blue. Black roof and black leather interior.
MOT valid from APR 2020 TO APR 2021 with no advisories.
She’s covered in 85,587 miles. Between April 2019 and April 2020 she covered 3505 miles. Since then the car has covered 364 miles.
Comes with a folder full of history. Some of this from the previous owner and a large wallet from myself. I maintain her meticulously, carrying out most of the work myself (other than the clutch). The car drives faultlessly and the 6 cylinder powerplant remains smooth and refined just as BMW intended.
I’ve made some small enhancements to the handling by replacing the rubber bushes up front so she turns in a little sharper detailed below. Tyres have plenty of tread.
Brakes are sharp with uprated discs, again see below.
She goes through the gears well as also mentioned below has had new clutch and transmission oil replaced.
The car is solid having had two brand new outer sills replaced and painted by myself. The paintwork is in good condition. It has age related scratches and dings here and there, which is to be expected.
It’s certainly not immaculate but I’ve done my best to preserve her in the condition it is in.
Serviced (all filters and spark plugs) after I purchased the car back in July 2017
Clutch and release bearing replaced in August 2019
Uprated drilled/grooved front and rear discs replaced with Mintex pads in Sept 2019
Exhaust Camshaft sensor replaced in October 2019
G/Box and Diff oil renewed in Nov 2019
Inlet Camshaft sensor replaced in March 2020
Water pump and thermostat replaced. I can’t remember when but probably around March 2020. I’m struggling to find the receipt annoyingly.
Both outer sills replaced with new from BMW. Inner sills stripped back and corrosion inhibiters applied. Wax oiled throughout. Driver’s side completed in March 2020 and passenger in May. 2020
Uprated front poly bushes on ARB (May2020), ARB drop-links and lollipops.
Track rod end replaced (May2020)
I’ve also replaced the DISA valve which came off a low mileage Z3.
Undersealed
Roof re-dyed and sealed completed in May 2020
Leather seats re-dyed in April
ABS fault has just been recitifed after fitting a 2nd hand module and it has one new front ABS sensor and one new rear ABS sensor. I think I have one new front sensor as a spare.
They’ll be other work carried out which I’ve simply forgotten or don’t have receipts. Such as the windscreen washer tank was full of gunk so that was removed and cleaned out. Power steering reservoir removed and inbuilt filter cleaned, power steering renewed.
The car will be advertised on here for a duration and then added onto Ebay if I receive no interest. I’ll be throwing in a box full of spares that I’ve inherited, begged or bought and not used.
Comes with the Bentley manuals, all printed out and categorised in ring binder.
I'd like £2500 but open to sensible offers. PM if interested.
