Just for fun....

Testing out the features of a new GoPro Hero 8 camera. Here is a video of me washing my Z4 and the E330 this morning. The video was shot using a 2 sec time lapse. Two cars washed in 107 seconds. If only it were really that quick. The camera was mounted on the open garage door. I hadn't noticed that as the sun came round and heated the door up that it dropped slightly. My car disappeared from view as I washed it. But, you get the idea.

Afterwars there's a Timewarp of a quick tour round the car. This feature is really interesting as it does a time-lapse but with stabilisation active. In the middle there is a section where the video speed resorts to normal speed to show the roof up/down.

A wheel can take 2 mins alone , I notice you have changed wheels from the Z4 in your signature , nice wheels but cleaning them wouldn't be fun .

Every time I see a fast frame video, in my head the theme tune from Benny Hill starts playing.....

Indeed. 108s are much quicker to clean. A lift to get the wheels up to chest height would be very useful ;)

Wouldn’t be much car cleaning done if there were scantily clad girls running around =))

I'm still on Hero 3+. The Hero 8 looks like an amazing bit of kit. I'd use the slo-mo for lots of silly things.

Image stabilisation looks really good and is fool-proof in the normal world. I've seen videos of really viscious vibrations are stabilised to smooth.

How many frames does each image use? The edit software that I use cannot be set to shorter than 1 second. I have to load all the images and then speed up the video if I want shorter frame-lengths.

You just set the speed of the video you want by setting the delay between images on Time-lapse and the speed you want on the TimeWarp up to 30x speed. It assembles all the images into video format automatically is it's available as soon as you stop recording. It doesn't state the actual frame rate for Time-Warp/Time-Lapse though - I suspect it's 25 or 30fps but will find out. Slow-mo is quite good too. If you set the video frame rate to 60 that gives plenty of scope to speed up or down too. It also does 240fps in 1080p which is a phenomenal slow-motion rate. Yet to try that.

The image stabilisation is also incredible. You lose a small part of the image at the edges the more stabilisation you apply, but it is quite incredible that is does it through software rather than hardware.
Have a H3 Black too - it's prehistoric by comparison despite being a great little tool. Now relegated to 2nd line use I expect.
