A friend is selling this as he wants a Z4, he's looking for £2850. MOT until Sept 17, airbag light is on but I think its the connection, wing mirrors are tired but seems ok overall, 113k. If you have a Z4 then there may be a deal you could do between yourselves.

If he waits until Spring the price of Z4s will also have gone up though. Has he actually driven a Z4 and felt the lack of quality?

Fair comment. Each to their own?

Tony.
I've driven both the 2.5 and 3.0 Z4 and to be fair I thought they were nice - I can see the "modernity" of them over the Z3. They are however, chalk and cheese in my opinion. The most disappointing aspect was the door closure, on the Z4 it has the feel of a tin can!

Out of interest, is the pre-facelift 2.8 worth more than post?

I doubt it. There were far fewer face lift 2.8's made for a start.

He's happy to take an offer on this if it helps anyone to make a decision - could be a cheap way into a 2.8
It looks very nice with nice spec wheels, seats, heaters etc.
He might want to try a more detailed ad on here and more pics but also Pistonheads which has a busy classifieds - you need to cast a wide net at this time of year as it's not prime time for selling a nice roadster but there are those canny buyers who look to buy in the winter for a lower price.

You are exactly right in what you say about the doors! I do understand it feels more modern but like other newer BMWs the quality of the interior controls is not the standard it used to be. My wife just sold a 2006 5 series and in my opinion the interior quality was below the standard of the 80s and 90s BMWs we have had. Silly stuff going wrong with huge bills as a result mostly electronics to be fair.
