Well, the time has finally come to sell up, after 6 years of happy motoring in my little coupe.
The arrival of my first child means I need something with more seats or less airbags, depending on which way you look at it.
First of all, asking price is £6995, being left hand drive it commands a premium on the continent.
Currently on just under 175,000 miles, taxed until end of April 2014 (£225 last year)
1 years MOT
Those of you who have been on here for a while will recognise the car from the various mods I have carried out over the years, a decent journal can be found here... http://zroadster.org/forum/threads/spurs-fan-in-a-coupe-progress.370/
But even this isn't everything!
I'm sure I'll miss something out but here goes
Earls clutch hose fitted
Angel eye with LED side lights
Smoked side lights and indicator lights
red stuff brake pads all round
new shorter leather gear knob
Z3M side grills with ///M badge removed and filled
Z3M Wheels powder coated in white with new rear tyres Nexen) decent tread left on fronts (Dunlop)
Eibach lowering springs
///M door sills
Front strut brace
The car already had powerflex or similar uprated bushes when I bought it,
also a Sebring exhaust (lovely gargling noises when decelerating ( I like it anyway))
Mid-silencer deleted and replaced with stainless steel standard bend
De-cat
Cat for MOT can be included if car sells for near the asking price (was on recently for the MOT)
Tinted windows
Nokia handsfree phone kit (doesn't connect to my iPhone, but did work with all my other phones)
There's bound to be more but that at least is a start!
Car is a German bought 1998 (S reg) Left Hand Drive 2.8 straight 6 24v Z3 Coupe with nearly 175,000miles on the clock - 1 green service lights remaining (will change oil and fit OEM oil and air filter before sale and reset service light), electric leather heated seats (black), front and side airbags, ABS, Traction Control, Air Conditioning, Sunroof, finished in Hellrot (bright red) paint.
I think that is it. In fair condition, for a car of 15 years of age and having covered that sort of mileage she has some stone chips (although the front end was re-sprayed about a year ago after a disagreement with a deer- not enough to put the car on the insurance category list - car is HPI clear)
There are parking dings in both doors (some worse than others), in all honesty they could both do with a blow over, drivers door is showing signs of lacquer fade (common with red cars) and the top of the rear quarters also have some lacquer peel. Sills could also do with a spray and there are a few rust bubbles coming up on the front wings and here and there. Never been enough to warrant me getting them done, if I started getting each bit done I think I'd have the whole car re-sprayed by now.
Interior is very tidy and clean, other than the dash, where the leather around the passenger's airbag has crack and rolled up slightly.
All in all it really is a stunning car that always gets commented on by people when I'm out and about, I really don't want to sell but will for the right price.
Still pulls well in all gears, drives surprisingly smoothly for an aging performance car.
Anyone who has driven a BMW Z3 will know that compared to new cars they do feel slightly agricultural but that's part of the appeal to me.
I've been very honest in my ad, and in my journal so please do get in contact if you realise this car is not mint, it is not going to win any concourse competitions but does drive well and look great.
A rare car, much loved
£6995
Questions via PM please.
