Hi, my wife has a lovely Boston green 1998 2.8 Z3. Our local garage used to look after it but now is unable to help. Can anyone please suggest a garage in the Bracknell, Berkshire UK area which has experience of looking after a Z3. thanks dvdv2020

TWG great although Will has retired for those of you not aware .... I use them for the Z3 and the E53. They are the only people I trust (so far) with the E53. I did go down to RBM but my experience wasn't that great as regards them phoning me back after I went all that way ..... I'm just down the road in Knaphill so welcome .. also Boston Green 2.8 so may see you around sometime ...

Many thanks for your reply and suggestion of TWG, Camberley. I'll give them a call and see what they can do. There are a few things that need attention: handbrake system which is at the limit of the "pull" so likely to fail its next MOT; very slow oil leak (around one drop per week) which looks like it's coming from the engine sump area; door sills rust in usual places; ABS dash light intermittently comes on/off; small surface scratches. And, of course, there's the things that we can't see!

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll give them a call too after I've spoken to TWG, Camberley.

Thanks for reaching out. I've seen a few silver ones, black ones, but so far no Boston green ones in Berkshire. My wife's car has a few surfaces scratches, and the usual door sill rust near the wheel arches, and a few other non-cosmetic issues that will need attention before too long. Hopefully, it will be fixable at a reasonable cost. All will be revealed when we get advice from RBM in Hook, and TWG in Camberley.

You're not that far from the Zshed in Bramley (in Hampshire) so also worthwhile popping along to Lee & Co. to ask him to have a quick look at her and advise (bring Donuts, Sausage Rolls or similar). He's not taking on that much new work at present (from what i understand) but he (and the rest of the team) are gr8 also the drive over is always good for a a.m. / p.m. day out.

Many thanks Steve. I looked up Zshed on Google but I couldn't find any information on them. Would you please send me Lee and CO's phone number and a postcode to locate them. One of the main cosmetic issues is the driver's side door sill which is rusting away near the rear wheel. Excuse my ignorance, but do you know if the door sills on a Z3 are fixed by bolts or welding? dvdv2020

Hi and welcome from me. All the panels are bolt on except the front slam panel and the little strip in front of the boot. If you sills are crusty on the outside chances are that they be worse on the inside. You can buy new ones from bmw. Worth taking them off to check the inner sills for corrosion.
