My daughter has a topaz blue 2000 2.8 auto. She recently ran it up on a curb :(

no visible damage really but it doesn't feel right

1 question not related to the curbing. When you shift it from park to drive it has quite a lot of flex in the suspension when the driveline i guess takes the load, and it settles quite a lot shifting back from drive to park. Is this normal?

With regard to the curbing. I think she popped a motor mount possibly, it has a pretty decent vibration now sitting at a red light with foot on the brake and various vibrations while driving, sound right? I plan to do the mounts next week. She is at college and doesn't have the car so it's sitting right now while i do that and other tasks on it.

thanks for any comments

The engine mountings are oil filled so if she had broken (split) one it could be leaking oil? Did she kerb the front or back end?

she kinda broadsided it, scrapes from the front cross brace back to the rear. the suspension looks ok, nothing looks bent.

For sure it was, I am looking at getting a new cross brace there but would that have a large affect on smoothness of the car? that x brace being borked?

No, it wouldn’t. In fact if you removed it you would hardly notice any difference under normal driving.
