Hi all,

I searched, but got little on this.

My 2.2i has the ATE 54/77 Callipers and supposedly they have 18mm bolts. Not mine! They’re 16mm. Got the lower bolt off using a breaker bar, but the upper is really stuck and I can’t get my breaker in there as the hose fouls it.

Any tips? At this rate I’m going to have to wait to take it to my specialist when things are more normal. Which sucks.

Thanks all.

I use a breaker with a ‘wobbly’ head to get in there.

Is it the carrier your trying to remove? If so have you removed the caliper first?

As Paul has said above.

Just been out to the garage and taken some pictures of mine to help.

If this is the bolt you are trying to remove...

Remove the calliper to get access to the bolt

Undo these and the calliper will pull off the disc. Once off, Don't let it hang on the brake hose though.
Then you can use a breaker bar on that top bolt.

Thanks to this thread I got the rotor off, but, the Allen bolt that retains the disc has lost its collar. I’m pretty much f&£ked without it. Anyone got the part number?

I’m off to real OEM to look it up. Sod’s law...

Much appreciated, but I’ve ordered a couple. My Z is a summer only car and can live in the garage on jack stands for a couple of days.

What usually happens with the slider pins is they strip the threads. You can drill it out and heli coil it. It is a 9mmm thread though.
