1998 BMW Z3 M44 rough idle

Recently bought a 98 Z3 and have found that it seems to vibrate and idle rough though the RPM doesn't fluctuate but there is vibration in the cabin and from the engine. Any ideas?

Hard to tell without seeing/hearing it TBH. May be worth checking the engine mounts, they're oil filled and can leak and then they're don't insulate the noise. Also check that the exhaust isn't touching the bodywork anywhere as that will cause vibration drone through the car too.
