SOLD

All,

My 1998 (S Reg) Z3 in Atlanta Blue is for sale.

Its the 2.8l widebody.

I've owned it for four years, driving it down to Switzerland when I first got it and would have happily done the same journey in it again.

Unfortunately yesterday the rear trailing arm broke and its currently at a garage awaiting repair - however, I had been considering selling it anyway so wondered if anyone on here would be interested in buying it before it is repaired.

It would need to be taken away on a trailer due to the damage to the rear arm which is preventing it from being driven.

The car has done 140,000 miles and was MOT'd in January 2024.

The car had a lot of preventative maintenance undertaken when I first bought it (prior to the European road trip) at a BMW independent specialist in Leeds (The Workshop).

It had new exhaust system from Tony Banks in Leeds.

It had a new roof last year from Jack Smith Trimmers in Swansea.

The paintwork is mostly good but with some swirls etc. as you would expect of a car of this age and mileage. I have looked after the car as well as possible but unfortunately there is some rusting to the rear quarters and the sills. The photos attached are the only ones I have and are from a couple of years ago and the rust isn't evident on these photos.

Engine runs really well and it was in use every day - covering 10,000 miles a year in my ownership.

The car is in West Yorkshire.

Looking for £800 ONO

That must have been quite a shock having passed the MOT a few months ago :(

Looks like the corrosion was noted on the MOT. Must have been bad for the arm to actually fail when driving ..and quite a shock I would imagine

I'd be interested to see some pictures of where the rear suspension arm broke. It would give a better idea of where abouts to look for excessive corrosion.

Tony.

The corrosion was noted but advised that it was not seriously weakened. Thankfully the car still drove so it wasn't much of a shock - I heard the wheel rubbing so stopped immediately. There was no damage to the liner / bumper / wings etc as the wheel still turned without catching on anything.
