Wanted 1997 Bonnet

Hi All,

I'm on the lookout for a bonnet in arctic silver for a 1997 widebody after my jealous bi*** of an ex took a screwdriver to mine. The closer to Wolverhampton and the cheaper the better as she also emptied my savings account.

Picture attached so you can see what she did to the car. She also slashed all 4 tyres but I have them sorted now and i'm hoping that the scratch she left on the door will polish out. I'm just glad that she didn't do the soft top too.

could the bonnet be repainted or is it cheaper just get a used bonnet?

Unless your going to find a minter you may as well have it resprayed. I would definitely report it and go for criminal damages. That’s just malicious and unforgivable best rid and move on.

Just in case you weren’t sure, all bonnets pre and post facelift, roadster or coupe, 1.8 to 3.2 are the same

Hey all and thanks for the responses.

I did report to the police after she admitted it to me but as there were no witnesses, they issued a crime number and Im told that no further action will be taking place.

To respray the bonnet, I'm getting quotes of around £500. If I claim on my insurance, it will screw up my no claims so dont really want to do that either. The used bonnet seems like the best option - I saw one in supposedly good condition on Facebook a few weeks ago for £150 so I think thats my best option.

My Zed isn't a minter body wise - mechanically perfect though but I use it as my daily so will never be as good as those that are kept in garages most of the year!

If any of you do hear about an artic silver bonnet going, I would be grareful if you could send the seller my way.
