Just seen this car advert from a 1968 car magazine ... interesting to see values ... spot the big one though

Yep 5k in 1968 you could buy a nice semi detached and a brand new ford cortina and capri for the drive and still have change.

Same here, I'd love a Hillman Hunter automatic.

From memory, I think the house ( 3 bed, semi detached ) my parents bought in 1967 was about £5300

It would be at least another year before the Austin Cambridge was traded in for a new Hillman Minx
