Don't know that brand but I fitted a React from http://www.eurocarparts.com/catalytic-converter on mine for ~£80.
Performance is very good so far.
The cheaper ones are ceramic internals and have a 2 year guarantee - dearer ones are steel with a 3 year. You can also look at http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/catalytic-converter which have the same inventory but usually slightly cheaper.

Petrol fumes? Are you sure it's just the cat ?
Hi thanks for the quick reply. Did the cam sensor a month ago kept getting cam fault code. Checked live data and lambda is switching OK. Suspected the cat cause when I bought the zed it looked like a cheap botch job. Recently been getting a bad rasp noise and rich smell at the tailpipe. The car runs sweet at pulls very well.

Could it possibly be a temp sensor problem. I don't get any fault codes..

Sorry - need the more experienced guys to answer that one. Can you get a pre - MoT emissions test done cheaply then you'll know what you're dealing with?

Makes sense getting a emissions check done. Just thought everything else is OK and the lambda is working OK. The cat that's on when I bought the car is a real nasty one.

If you go for a pre test take the car for a good run and get it nice and hot. Then get them to test your emissions immediately while your oil temp is still very high. Check the readings, I'm sure @t-tony can let you know what the parameters are if you ask him nicely and mail me a £10 note. lol JIM

Get your emissions test done first, at our place there wouldn't be a charge if you had the test done later. I would think most would do the same?

Tony.

Those Lada motors go forever. Had one in 83 and drove it everyday till the rust killed the body then gave it to a friend who drove it another hundred thousand miles and put the motor into a third car and sold it so don't know how far it actually went. It payed for itself in gas savings over the years we drove it daily over a hundred miles a day average. My brother had a Cuban panelbasher do some work for one of his cars that no one else would touch. Was amazing to watch him form pieces with just those primitive tools. His final test in Cuba was to build a fender for a Ferrari by hand. JIM

Well done - you will probably need a new gasket for manifold end if you haven't already got one. You may get away with the old one and sealant but it's a gamble. Good Luck.

Cheers. Thought I did well with the prices.
Got a new gasket.. Rubbers...and bolts on order with the local bmw agents. Might as well replace the lot while I am at it.. Hopefully last a while once done.

hi all,
just an update. fitted the cat and a new backbox as well. rubbers and gaskets.
i used the backbox bellow
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z3-CA...ar-Silencer-/161545926468?hash=item259ce33744

shouldn't have been a cheap skate as the backbox is noisey ( baffle noise)
have any of you chaps used the backbox as in the link and was it ok?
thinking of trying to quiet the exhaust now and was wondering are db killers any good
would they affect performance.

@spurs fan in a coupe has a 1.9 Long Life exhaust at the moment I think. Maybe the back box off that would be an idea?
