On the 1.9 Z3 there's a large section of trunking that runs from the lower air scoop behind the bumper, behind the rad and then connects to the airbox. It's made of a soft foam with what's like a flexcible ducting inside, a bit like the ducting for a cooker hood or extractor fan. Mine looks a bit moth eaten. Has anyone replaced the inner ducting and if so where did you get it? I've looked at silicone ducting but it won't make the bend without creasing .

The `elephant's trunk'. Mine was collapsing so I `modded' it. Took out the inner spiral wiring and inserted a section of ~2.5" rainwater downspout pipe, one 90" bend and one obtuse bend from Wickes. It's a snug fit in channel and no problems in 5+ years.
