Just had a long chat with the owner, great little car and in good Nik. He's just come back from a 4000 mile round trip to Italy and other places and over some good passes. Don't think we've got any issues in our "babies".

A very Rare survivor, Fiat X19s rusted out as soon as they left the dealers as did all fiat cars of the period. It was not until Fiat started using galvanised steel in there cars that Fiat had an answer, by that time the damage was done. Pity really because there engines were very good for the time.

Indeed. That chap also has a 1.3 X19 that he's doing a full restoration on, that's two saved at least. Must say though I can't remember the last time I saw one.

I had one for a short time in the late eighties, just to tidy up and sell on. It was a fun little car to drive.

Typical 70's 80's design.
This car did not go down well with the punters either.....

I used to work with a guy who was into doing up "Write off " cars and one time he had an X19, Orange it was with black trim only a few months old. Anyway he brought it to work one Monday to get it tested and I straight away spotted that the front and rear number plates didn't match ! I said to him that I'd spotted the deliberate mistake and he asked what but I wouldn't tell him. I kept him hanging till lunch time before I put him out of his misery.=))

Tony.

ps Alfa Sud were another great fun car from that era but they too dissolved when they got wet, bit like Gremlins
