BMW only ever made 252 of these beauties so perhaps the price shouldn't be a surprise, and no matter what condition it was in, it would attract premium attention.

It has only covered 45k miles in it's life and I'm thinking the owner has missed out on loads of fun times keeping it in the garage.

It's instantly recognisable as the Z3's great granddaddy.

You could buy an awful lot of Z3s or Z4s for that sort of money. Enjoy driving them as well. If i'd spent 1.7 mill on a car I certainly wouldn't take it out on the road.
