For those of you that are interested my Z3 I'll be posting information about my resent experience of adding a VF Industries Supercharger and how I overcame the challenge of adding a high performance exhaust system to my Z3. I will be sharing Dyno's at 3 levels stock, supercharged stock exhaust and finally supercharged with complete performance exhaust.
I should start by saying that I've owned my Z3 for just a bit over 7 years never seen snow, ice barely any rain kept covered up and protected the majority of the time snug in my garage. "Sorry dear wife you still can't park your crappy Japanese car in the garage your going to trade it in 3-5 years anyway." My 2000 Z3 2.8L M52TUB 5 speed manual trans had just rolled over 70k miles and the only real upgrade so far was replacing all the speakers with BAV sound kit and adding a jack for my iPhone.
As majority of you know a 2.8L Z3 are plenty quick 193 HP @ 5500 RPM and 206 ft-lbs. @ 3500 RPM with the second-generation double VANOS system adjusts the timing of the intake and exhaust camshafts. Certainly quick enough and fast enough to get into plenty of trouble and for me it was plenty for several years; regardless of this I just got a need for more and started researching options.
Finally the super charger is in place, new exhaust is installed she's all tuned up and going on the DYNO tomorrow. So I'd like to write up and share my experience and the final results.
