  • Hi. I have recently joined the forum. I wonder if you can help me, please? I have a 1999 1.9 Z3 and am looking for an ABS unit as soon as possible because the car is due for MOT in June. I have already asked Andy of Spurs fan in a coupe and, although he has two, they don't match the model number. I have taken photos of my existing ABS unit but I can't find a way of attaching them to this post.

    Many thanks

Hi, your best solution is to remove the ABS pump and send it away for repair. This service is around £150 and will be better than swapping it for another unknown unit that could fail at any time. They have soldered joints inside that crack so causing intermittent issues. Hope this helps, your looking for an ECU repair specialist.
Hi Lee, I was curious what rims do you have fitted on your Z3? Are they Japan Racing SL01? Thanks!

Much appreciated mate, actually I had never considered TSW wheels, this is interesting and they seem quite lightweight. Although ideally I am trying to find 17"...

Yeah very lightweight at 9kg a wheel, only trade off being on bad roads over the years they slightly buckle. Every few years I got them refurbed and straightened.
    Hi Lee,
It looks straightforward but do I need to replace the guide support Real OEM 3321092362, 3352119263, 51718413359. any advice would be appreciated. I guess spring pads would depend on springs fitted? Finally to my original question; How do you adjust the dampers for normal road height and normal road use? Sorry for so many questions but out of my comfort zone with suspension stuff.. thanks Martin

Hi Martin, you can use either lowering springs or stock springs with Koni shocks. Koni shocks normally only adjust for rebound not height. The height is determind by the spring fitted. If your changing the shocks its worth replacing those top mounts and fitting a support plate just make sure you have a large washer each side of the rubber bush or it will pull through.. Send me a PM for more info.
    Hi Lee,
I mentioned in a previous post' Sophie returns. Z3M body overhaul' that I would like your advice on fitting Koni's to my 1.9 1997. I want to keep the same ride height so what springs would you recommend to do that. I have looked at Apex, H+R et al and not sure what to get? Regards fitting the dampers is there anything I need to be aware of or replace as I fit them?
    Cheers Martin
Hi Lee, it was lovely to meet you, your dad, and your mum during the autumn run. Hopefully I'll see you at breakfast on a Saturday in the B & Q car park. Best, Lalin (@lalinsorinoco ) and Sadie

    Hi Lee
I'm new to this forum and seen your previous posts. I'm looking for both near and off-side suspension arms for 2002 Z3 Roadster 1.9, any chance you can source them. The part numbers are 33321094761 & 33321094762
    Here's hoping! Jeff
    Hi Lee,
I have a 2.2 roadster, will the same flywheel clutch and gearbox arrangement fit mine with similar mods as Dino's 2.8 or will I have to try something different? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, it will be a straight fit just like Dino's, it will be good to see if the 2.2 has the torque for the 6th at the lower speeds.
Hi Lee. Tony has been in touch with me about a front upper strut brace that I placed a wanted ad for, saying that you might possibly have one for sale? My Z3 is a 1998 2.8 6cyl wide body roadster. Please let me know if you have one to sell, & how much that you would want for it? Cheers... Michael
