The two Lancasters, the highlight of the show!
We had a memorable day at Little Gransden, but sadly, for the first time ever, someone was forgotten, poor Ol' Whistler was accidently left at home all alone!!! 
Luckily Macca & Marymac had bought 'Young Whistler' along in case of substitution and he played his part admirably, keeping us supplied with a brew all day
The flying display was excellent, without a break, all sorts of planes were constantly up in the sky. The two Lancasters timed their entry perfectly, just after the moment of silence during the remembrance service and the Vulcan was terrific, making the ground tremble when he opened up the throttles to do a half roll as he climbed up into the skies over the airfield. It was a real lump in the throat, hairs on the back of the neck job!!!!
As usual the humour & the jokes flowed and we all had the best of days with the weather being so good to us, that some of us even ended up with a touch of sunburn.

What a show, incredibly entertaining, well organised and fuelled with enthusiasm!

Great photos and video guys, well done! Really sad we couldn't make it this year-we'll console ourselves tomorrow in Reims with another ice-cream sundae ;-)

What a fantastic day to be with a great bunch of people with nice weather and fantastic flying.
Finally managed to sort most of the photographs from Sunday.
All set up early: stove, water, mugs, table, tea, coffee, sugar, errr something is missing!!!!

Mike did return with a cup of tea and thankfully Mary produced a kettle that was in the boot - wonder what else was lurking in the boot! Anyway on with some of the planes:

The organisers of Little Gransden IMO did an excellent job both before and on the day and people have noted on other forums just how much flying there was unlike some other airshows. In addition they recognised that the BBMF is a Memorial Flight and that there were Lancaster Veterans present and I felt that the short memorial service was, at times very moving. At the end of the short service the crowd of almost 9,000 was silent for the reading of the Remembrance Poem: They shall not grow old ........ then a distant noise is heard not loud enough to affect the reading of the poem, gradually 9,000 heads slowly turn, the poem ends ....... We will remember (the noise suddenly reaches a cescendo and from behind a small stand of trees) them and we have:

Yes. thanks Jim, you are right. Someone else has said that it is a Jackaroo, but without such a good explanation. Pretty close with Tiger Moth though, Jim
