I hate to say this but thats one of the worst cases of corrosion I have seen in a Z3, more in line with a MX5, good luck

That looks expensive!
Have to weigh up if it's worth it.

Good luck

It is looking rather poorly never seen a zed with that type of corrosion i would see what the garage says its a hefty repair and as suggested it may be a case of weighing up the costs .
Hope they come in good and the repair goes well

Looks like the wheel arch panel needs work too - is the corrosion similar on both sides? New sills painted and fitted could be a around £800.

@Theresa as I mentioned to you earlier I really feel you maybe better off replacing your Zed rather than repairing this one :(
I really feel for you it's so sad x

If you have had the car for a few years then the rust would have shown up on the MOT as a warning. Anyway from an economic point of view the rust looks expensive. Probably the cost of correction exceeds the value of the car. I would go and look for another Z3 making sure it is rust free. You could use your existing car as a parts car or break it for spares.

@Theresa look at it as a new exciting Zed adventure
All you gotta do is shout out on the forum and a local Zedder will happily go and check out a zed that catches your eye before you travel miles
@yocky z3 2.0 helped me before I went to see mine

Yes - the parts are reasonable - labour is expensive - depending on who does the work. Personally - I wouldn't be too keen to look for another Zed just yet - get the car assessed by two different sources - then decide on the best way forward. Best of luck!

Hi Stacey and @Theresa have read up the post got to say as mot tester thats pretty done in .
I know the outer sills may be £130 a side but thats not the problem.
The rear inner sill leading on to the rear lower inner arch holed .
Also outer sill holed at the jacking point if the corrosion has spread right in there ( which it looks like it probably has) initially would require the panels off to assess the extent then if both sides the same major rebuild required.
Got to be honest if you are going to have to put it into a garage then a major bill awaits for a repair that may not last depending on how extensive and quality of the repair.
Guessing its a 1.9 (going by exhaust i can see in pic ) i would put the money into a new zed and take and bits you need from yours then sell for spares.

Told the sills are £130 each
Hi Theresa.
I hope your well I was only thinking about you the other day and wondered how you were getting on with your Zed.
While I'm no mechanic purchasing sills isn't going to be the answer looking at the photos. Stacey may be right time for another Zed will be more economical.

I have to agree with the above posts, I think it would be way above the value of the car to put it right, IMO you will be able to buy another Z for what it will cost to put yours right, by the way, I do this sort of work for a living.

Sorry to hear and see your poorly Zed . It all depends on how much work has been done on the car in past sometimes it's better the devil you know and some kind people on here have offered to donate some parts to help with cost which is truely amazing.
I have considered selling mine for another Zed a sort of upgrade if you like, but so much has been done on mine now at great cost I fear if i did change i might be doing the same old work again.
So i will keep it for now and try to reap some benefit from the work and money spent.
Good luck with your fix if you decide taking that root.
