Watching this with interest as mine is 1998 1.9 88000 miles. I'm using premium petrol and adding Redex at each refill

I just had a flex fuel treatment done on my 3.0 M54 in the hope of reducing oil usage. Hydrogen is feed through the intake to burn off carbon deposits in the engine. First hour is at idle the second hour is at 3k. It didn’t cure my oil usage issue but it did make the engine note lighter and the throttle more responsive. For £100 it was worth a try before replacing the piston rings.

Was looking at Wynns, Liquimoly, stp additives, that sort of thing.
Been running good since head gasket done last year, but struggled to get emmisions down for last MOT. Thought a wee flush and treatment might help??

Some Cataclean or similar might help but a good Italian tune up on the way to the test is best.

I was brainwashed into using Slick 50 back in the 70's. I saw that advert where they raced a VW Golf with no oil in the engine. Can't say I noticed any significant difference with my car but then again, I was too scared to run my car with no oil.
If it was any good the oil companies wouldn't sell any oil would they =))

I just use Tesco Unleaded in my 2.2. 194,000 miles and she seems to go ok;)
